Required Notice

Texas law requires all real estate brokers and sales agents to provide information about brokerage services to prospective clients. This notice helps you understand the services brokers can provide and the parties they represent in a transaction.

Rule §531.20 Details

1. TREC Notice Reference

The Commission adopts by reference the Information About Brokerage Services Notice, TREC No. IABS 1-1 (IABS Notice). The IABS Notice is published by and available from the Texas Real Estate Commission, P.O. Box 12188, Austin, Texas 78711-2188, www.trec.texas.gov .

2. Requirements for License Holders

Each broker and sales agent shall provide:

  • A link to a completed IABS Notice on the homepage of each business website, labeled either "Texas Real Estate Commission Information About Brokerage Services" (10pt font minimum) or "TREC Information About Brokerage Services" (12pt font minimum)
  • The completed IABS Notice at the first substantive communication as required under §1101.558, Texas Occupations Code
